We are looking for a Drupal developer to join The Book Report Network on a 3-6 month contract basis. Looking for candidates with the ability to create standards-compliant code that tightly adheres to original design specifications. The ideal candidate would be local to New York City and would work in-office. We are looking to fill this position in January 2010.
• Work with a team of programmers and designers to create dynamic, content-driven websites, video portals, rich media and other interactive products
• Create standards compliant XHTML from Photoshop templates
• Develop standards-compliant code that holds up cross-platform and cross-browser
• Understand and adhere to CSS driven development standards
• Conduct thorough QC on applications before releasing to management for review
• Able to work both independently to meet aggressive deadlines, and collaboratively in a team-based production environment.
• Expert knowledge of CSS development, and cross browser issues
• Expert knowledge of Drupal, including custom theme development, custom module development, profiles, views, and default overrides
• Expert knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, and SSH
• Knowledge of JQuery, AJAX, and ASP knowledge are highly beneficial
• Knowledge of Javascript, Action Script, & Flash are a plus
• Experience with Rackspace Hosting and/or Plesk a plus
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
In addition, the ideal candidate will be:
• Able to interface with Graphic Designers for design specifications
• Able to quickly shift priorities and work on multiple projects at the same time
